nature of love

The Nature of Love is a styled shoot we put together with a fantastic group of talented vendors from the Twin Cities.

Our focus was to create something authentic yet simple and sophisticated.  Taking the beauty that surrounds us, we took our cues from nature and created something organic and elegant. Proving “less is more” we used  the awe-inspiring creations that nature provides.

Wherever possible our emphasis was on reusing and repurposing.  Many of the materials chosen - driftwood, prairie grasses and cattails, as well as, reclaimed barn wood for the custom designed dining table - were found in backyards, riverbeds or run down barns. The linens, ribbons and paper are all hand-made and naturally dyed.

We shared an aesthetic of uncomplicated luxury. Soft subtle shades - white on white, earthy tones and the use of interesting textures and lots of natural light imagined the coming of the new season, the transformation of Winter into Spring. The bride wears custom made rings of moonstone, gold and silver, while the beautiful cake is painted to look like mikah, abalone shells and dried, bleached florals -  all elements provided by Mother Earth.
