Meet the Daughters

Krista’s grandmother, Shirley Maree Vasconcellos was the artist matriarch of a large Portuguese family, and nothing was as precious to her as family. She signed her artwork “de Vasco” as a tribute to her ancestors.

We come from a long line of passionate artisans—painters, poets, photographers, and makers—and we are proud of our heritage. The name “de Vasco” holds a special meaning and embodies the generations of creative women in our family—beginning with Shirley Maree.

A Little More About Me

Like the lifelong artisans and passionate women who came before me, I’ve spent years perfecting my artistic creativity—first as a personal stylist and creator of custom designs, and now as a wedding and event designer.

Through high touch, intentional design and meticulous planning, I focus on creating experiences that are rich in detail and outlast trends. There is nothing cookie-cutter about my work, meaning no two weddings are alike.

Lovely, It’s an honor to translate your legacy of love into a uniquely beautiful design, and we are SO glad you are here.

Founder, Lead Designer + Planner

I married my husband of 34 years at The Beach Club - the moment I met him, I knew I was going to marry him!

I’m also the proud mother to four grown children, two of whom began this adventure with me.

I was a personal stylist with Anthropologie for almost nine years, and also worked on an HGTV series for seven seasons.

Cooking and entertaining are my love languages, and I believe in cake and champagne for breakfast. Always.

My favorite parts of a wedding are seeing the bride’s dress, listening to the couple share their vows, and hearing what song they chose for their first dance.

My favorite part of a wedding is when the couple shares their vows during the ceremony. It makes me feel like I’m in a scene from The Wedding Planner!

My favorite thing is seeing the groom's face as his bride walks down the aisle. It always makes me emotional! As well as when each couple see's their venue transformed into their vision.

My favorite part is the speeches! Hearing about the couple’s love story from the perspective of their closest friends and family is so interesting! The heartfelt speeches are so touching.

My favorite part of a wedding is to see couples’ visions come to life. From seeing the bride in the beautiful dress she chose to the couple's private look of the reception room - it is all very moving!

My favorite part of a wedding is the moment right before the ceremony when you can feel the excitement and anticipation in the air. Seeing the bride make her first entrance is so special.

It is a grand moment when the bride and groom take their first look at the finalized space after envisioning and anticipating it for months. You can see they are in awe of the outcome.

One of my favorite moments working weddings is when the bride and groom walk back down the aisle after saying their vows. As well as when the couple sees the room for the first time and all of the attention to detail that has been put into it.

My favorite moment comes after the wedding party is at the altar and the bride is waiting, alone or accompanied,  and the calm that comes over her as she about to make her entrance to marry her true love.

It's always so special to see and hear the personal moments at a wedding. The vows, speeches, and private moments that are shared between the couple and family members throughout the day.
